Inspired by personal experiences, Asian philosophy, and the Japanese art of kintsugi, the comic embraces cracks and imperfections as part of one’s history. In this world, breaking is not the end — it is the beginning of transformation. Gold does not hide the wounds; it highlights them.
The project has also taken physical form beyond the pages of the book. The Ceramic Heart was exhibited at the Czech Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam, where the illustrated narrative was presented as a curated exhibition, connecting Czech and Vietnamese cultural perspectives through art.

In 2026, The Ceramic Heart will continue its journey with a major exhibition in Prague at Vnitroblock, running from 2 April to 6 May 2026. The exhibition will expand the universe of the comic into an immersive space featuring original artworks and storytelling elements, inviting visitors to step inside the world of the ceramic heart.
As part of the project, Bao Quyen collaborated with ceramic artist Veronika Le to bring the story into the physical world. Together, they created a real ceramic heart — an exclusive, handmade object crafted with intention, patience, and deep respect for traditional craftsmanship. Each heart carries its own story and is made with love, care, and emotional meaning, making it not just a product, but a keepsake.
The Ceramic Heart is more than a comic book — it is an evolving artistic universe that connects illustration, craft, culture, and emotion. A reminder that even what is broken can be repaired, transformed, and made precious again.

Komiks je inspirován osobními zkušenostmi, asijskou filosofií a japonským uměním kintsugi, které učí, že praskliny a nedokonalosti jsou součástí historie objektu, nikoli chybou. V tomto světě není rozbití koncem, ale začátkem proměny. Zlato rány neskrývá — naopak je zvýrazňuje.
Projekt přesahuje stránky komiksu a získal také fyzickou podobu. The Ceramic Heart bylo vystaveno na Velvyslanectví České republiky v Hanoji ve Vietnamu, kde byl ilustrovaný příběh představen formou kurátorované výstavy, která propojila českou a vietnamskou kulturní perspektivu skrze umění.

V roce 2026 bude projekt pokračovat významnou výstavou v Praze ve Vnitroblocku, která se uskuteční od 2. 4. do 6. 5. 2026. Výstava rozšíří svět komiksu do imerzivního prostoru plného originálních ilustrací a vyprávěcích prvků a umožní návštěvníkům vstoupit přímo do světa keramického srdce.
Součástí projektu je také spolupráce s keramickou umělkyní Veronikou Le, díky které vzniklo skutečné keramické srdce. Jedná se o exkluzivní, ručně vyráběný objekt s vlastním příběhem, vytvořený s láskou k řemeslu, trpělivostí a důrazem na detail. Každé srdce je jedinečné a nese v sobě emoci i hlubší význam — není to jen produkt, ale vzpomínka.
The Ceramic Heart není jen komiks. Je to živý umělecký projekt, který propojuje ilustraci, řemeslo, kulturu a emoce. Připomíná, že i to, co bylo rozbito, může být opraveno, proměněno a stát se vzácným.
